Join us for the fifth annual Tour de Tonka bike ride on Saturday, August 7. Last year 2,137 riders rode in the event and loved it!  If you have not joined us before, you do not want to miss out this year. We will be celebrating our fifth anniversary of Tour de Tonka.

We have plenty of biking fun in store for you in 2010!  The ride begins and ends at Minnetonka High School.  Tour de Tonka is a fully supported ride with rest stops, bike mechanics, safety vehicles, music, food, door prizes and a vendor fair. Consider bringing the whole family, and/or join friends and neighbors for this FUN annual summer event! Tour de Tonka offers several new opportunities this year:

• SAVE!  Take advantage of early bird savings for ALL riders this year by registering by March 31.
• NEW distances! You asked for it, you got it!  This year, in honor of our 5th Anniversary ride we are offering a Century Ride!  100 mile riders will ride with the 65 & 38 milers up to the first rest stop and then you will need to make a choice if you are up for the 100 mile challenge or not.
• And...another NEW distance.  If 16 miles is not quite enough, and 38 miles is too much, try the new 23 mile ride. This ride begins with the 16 mile riders, then separates at Excelsior Blvd. and West Mill Rd at the 3/4 mile marker and meets up with them again at the first rest stop.
• Tier pricing for families and early bird discounts for all levels.
• Some NEW route changes - each year courses are modified.  Come completely and others minimally.
• More music!  A live band will be at the finish from noon on.  And, on Friday at packet pick-up, a DJ will get you fired up from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
• A spring 16-mile Kick-off Ride on May 14. Get fired up for a summer of cycling!

Distances for 2010:

• 16 mile family ride - with an option to ride 23 miles
• 23 miles - NEW! An extension to the 16 mile family ride
• 38 mile ride
• 65 mile ride  - with an option to do 100 miles 
• 100 mile ride

Tour de Tonka is a ride not a race. Helmets are MANDATORY.

Registration, Packet Pick-up and Check-in at Minnetonka High School:
Avoid the crowds and take advantage of prepacket pick-up and registration on Friday, August 6 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.  Same day check-in and registration will be on Saturday, August 7 from 6-7 a.m.  The ride begins at 7:30 a.m.   For up-to-date information on maps and details go to www.tourdetonka.org.
